Applewood (Main House)
This 7,904 sq. ft. practical family home was built in 1916. Connecting the house to the garage area is a glass greenhouse once used to grow fresh vegetables and flowers for the Mott family in the winter. The main house is used today by the foundation to support community convening and dialogue about issues of importance to the vitality of Flint and Genesee county.

Mott Family Home In 1915, Mott bought two adjoining parcels, totaling nearly 65 acres, within Flint's city limits. With the assistance of his brother-in-law, architect Herbert Davis, and another relative, landscape architect William Pitkin, Jr., Mott created a self-sufficient gentleman's farm, featuring a practical home that provided the family with recreational opportunities, as well as a bounty of home-grown fruits, vegetables and meat. The estate was built on the site of an old apple orchard.
